EVENT PLANNING ASSISTANT
When needed. Time Commitment: Time will vary according to scale of the event. Call Iris for more details
AIDS Delaware hosts several events throughout the year including: Dining Out for Life in April, The Red & White Party (every other year), AIDS Walk Delaware in September, Halloween BINGO in November, and World AIDS Day on December 1. We’re seeking help in the planning of our events. Duties will include: soliciting sponsors and donations; mailings; decorating; picking up prizes; volunteering on the day of the event and other tasks involved in event planning. We welcome ideas and methods that will keep expenses to a minimum. If you enjoy planning parties on a budget, give us a call. Qualifications: Enjoy the planning of parties; friendly; work well in a team setting; creativity; problem solving; frugality; proficiency with common computer applications; transportation to pick-up donation items (not necessary for work in the office).
FOOD PANTRY ASSISTANT
Weekly need, Tuesdays
Time Commitment: 3-6 hours per week
Food pantry assistants help on Tuesdays in our Wilmington office when clients pick up food. Assistants help fulfill food pantry requests and help clients get out of the building with their food. Shifts are 9am-Noon or 12-3pm. Email Iris at email@example.com.
Qualifications: Must be able to lift heavy bags and boxes of groceries. Ability to be quick and efficient.
SUSSEX TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM
Weekly need Time Commitment: As needed.
AIDS Delaware’s Sussex County office needs volunteers to drive clients to and from various doctor’s appointments and appointments with their case managers. Email Darcy at firstname.lastname@example.org if you’re interested in volunteering for this program.
Requirements: a dependable car, valid driver’s license, and automobile insurance.
Qualifications: Friendly and outgoing. Punctual. Trustworthy.
COMPUTER RESOURCE ATTENDANT
Weekly need, Tuesdays and Thursdays
Time Commitment: As needed.
Computer Resource Attendants are needed to help clients with basic computer usage, such as setting up email accounts, accessing websites, formatting Microsoft Word documents, etc. This position is flexible if you can only work partial shifts. Email Darcy at email@example.com.
Qualifications: Proficiency with common computer applications is required (i.e. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, web browsing, email setup, and navigation, etc.). Friendly and patient.
